Essential Oils for Nourishing

Energetically, we need nourishment. All of us experience emotional trauma and emotional hurts which get buried and may be difficult to access over time. Emotional trauma can cause the brain to be in fight or flight and this stress can lead to the loss of creative potential and a focus on fear rather than love.

Our sacral chakra is known as the self-abode and when balanced energetically, it has the quality to nourish us emotionally. Last week, I posted all about the 2nd chakra’s qualities and importance in overall health. Click here to check it out.

How can we create that energetic nourishment for our self-abode?

Essential oils increase the vibrations of our subtle bodies. They can effectively open the chakras to strengthen our life force or prana. They play such a vital role in activating our chakra system because the essential oils themselves are considered the prana or “essential” force of a plant.

Therefore, it is imperative that we choose essential oil products that are pure and hold high standards for the utmost energetic effect. I have been using Young Living essential oils because they are a trusted source. Their high quality products start from the seed growing in the fields and continue all the way until they seal on the cap.

Let’s start with my top pick to balance the sacral chakra – Citrus Fresh. This blend of oils includes: Orange, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Lemon, Mandarin and Spearmint. Its quite appropriate that the flow and wateriness of the sacral chakra should be more balanced by the juice of the citrus fruits.

In fact, any one or combination of lemon, orange, tangerine or grapefruit is helpful to create balanced sacral chakra flow. In combination, they stimulate the right brain to amplify creativity and well-being and eradicate anxiety. I tend to use these oils in combination, or singularly, for cleaning. Just combine a few drops with a little soap and water and you have a toxic free, wonderfully smelling and chakra balancing cleaning product.

Keep in mind that if you apply any citrus oil to the skin, the oil is photosensitive and can create skin sensitivity when exposed to the sun.

Another effective oil blend for the sacral chakra is Inner Child. This blend was developed to stimulate memory response and help one reconnect with the inner self or identity. This is one of the first steps to finding emotional balance.

Its ingredients include: Orange, Tangerine, Ylang Ylang, Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Jasmine, Lemongrass, Black Spruce and Neroli.

Studies have shown that Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood may help remove negative programming from the cells due to its high quantity of sesquiterpenes which stimulate the pineal gland and the limbic region of the brain, the center of emotions.

I have only been using this oil for a couple of weeks now. As an experiment I am choosing to replace one oil that suits each chakra for use in my shower each morning for a whole month. To be honest, there is a lot going on in my life right now and I am feeling pretty emotionally balanced considering…go Inner Child!

Because the sacral chakra involves the reproductive system, I am including Clary Sage as one of the best essential oils to use for balancing female sexual dysfunction and hormone levels. Clary Sage essential oil is geared toward women for its aromatically soothing properties. Applied topically, it also promotes the appearance of healthy-looking skin and hair.

I have been using Clary Sage regularly specifically to balance myself hormonally, pre and post menopause.

So, there you have it. A few essential oils to balance your self-abode, or 2nd chakra energy center.

If you don’t already have a good source for purchasing essential oils, consider Young Living. I am a distributor and would be happy to help you get started. Click here to go to my YL website.

Until next time…Namasté,
