It’s Your Mane Event Leo!

imgres

If you were born under the sign of Leo, also known as the Lion, you are governed by the element of fire. Your sign rules over the heart, spine and hair (in other words, your Lion mane). Therefore, you may be more prone to illnesses or biases that stem from these areas.

A Leo should leap boldly into the Sun Salutation series. It speaks to their fiery spirits. And, a bonus is that Uttanasana or the forward bend portion of the series creates abundant blood flow in the scalp which maintains healthy hair.

Another posture made for this zodiac sign is, of course, Simhasana or Lion Pose:

  • Sit back on your heels and rest your palms on your knees. Keeping your chin down, look up to the ceiling. Inhale deeply through the nose and as you open your mouth wide, stretch out your tongue and release an audible “HA” sound. This is a fine opportunity to practice your Lion’s roar!
  • Repeat two to three times and follow up with a resting position such as Balasana or Child’s Pose.

For a gentle backbend, try Ardha Salabasana or Half Locust Pose.  It’s a superb way to keep the spine healthy and a nice warm-up for…Half-locust_pose

…the more adventurous Ustrasana or Camel Pose. However, don’t go overboard with this heart opening asana – stick with the variation that is best suited for you.

And, finally,
